Oh, the frustration of that 'clink' your arrow makes as it falls from the fork against the riser while you're drawing on the target. It is more of an annoyance when you are target practicing but when it comes to a hunt that is blown by a clanking arrow that has fallen from your rest the time has come to find a better rest. I know the frustration of both those scenarios personally and when I finally grew weary of re-placing my carbons back onto the drop away rest, I gave Carolina Archery Products Inc. a call. Their new series of Quick Shot arrow rests are available with right and left-hand versions in black or four-color camouflage models. They can be ordered for either aluminum or carbon arrows and the new quick loading feature accepts arrows inserted into the side of this rest.

The name Whisker Biscuit® has been around for a few years now and even though its' original design had caught my eye I was a bit wary of using one of these new rests. I've gotten too comfortable with a 'let Mikey try it first' kind of approach when it comes to making a change to my bow set up, in fact the last two bows I purchased were the exact same model. This year I've laid my old favorite aside for a new bow and shaken loose from that old complacency by trying new sights and several innovative bow products. One of which is the Whisker Biscuit® Deluxe Quick Shot Arrow Rest. My curiosity got the best of me after watching my daughter with her first real bow set up which includes the original Whisker Biscuit®. I had to admit the Biscuit definitely holds the arrow at rest from insert to full draw.
With all the positive recommendations I have heard about the second generation or B2 Whisker Biscuit®, and after another bow hunter asked, 'What are you waiting for?" I decided I was up for the challenge of trying the B2T for myself. I requested a second generation Deluxe Quick Shot Arrow Rest from Carolina Archery Products, Inc. and I am not disappointed that I did. This Whisker Biscuit® mounted easily and has vertical gang adjustment and a lock down screw that allow fine-tuning to an accurate position. The new models have a V-opening just above center on the ring to insert the arrow directly into the whisker like fibers that hold it perfectly when pulling to full draw. The release is smooth and quiet. When tree branches bump the arrow in the close quarters such as thick vegetation or in a tree stand the Whisker Biscuit® holds the arrow securely in place.

Due to the fact that the whiskers are in constant contact with the fletchings it is worth mentioning that there is a minimal FPS loss during arrow flight when using the Whisker Biscuit® compared to using a prong rest. The length and type of fletching used will determine this modest decline in speed.

After using the Whisker B2 I have found it to be a truly unique arrow rest that can be used with my Mathews and Parker bows. I am assured by the folks at Carolina Archery Products that with few exceptions there is a Biscuit® model available for most any bow. I would recommend it highly for its ease of use, and especially for how quietly it allows arrows, even carbon to pass through the specially designed fibers with little more than a whisper. Personally, I like this rest better than any other type of arrow rest I have used in the past. I found that making this change to my bow set-up with Carolina Archery Products, Inc., new Whisker Biscuit® not only helped me avoid falling arrows but has also improved my confidence in shooting. I can't wait to use it in the deer woods come mid-September when Missouri archery season opens.
