SB 152 TO ALLOW CONCEALED CARRY WHILE HUNTING
WITH NO CALIBER RESTRICTIONS
INCLUDING NON-FIREARMS SEASONS
Testifying as proponents of this bill were KSRA President Patricia Stoneking, Chris Tymeson from KDWP, Jordan Austin from NRA and Synthia Wilson, who is a member of KSRA and an avid huntress, as well as hunter education instructor. There were no opponents.
KDWP wants the bill to include a penalty for anyone who takes game illegally with their concealed carry gun and suggested the penalty be the suspension of the hunting and CCH license for a designated period of time. As with all laws, there are penalties for breaking the law and we have no objection to the suggested penalty.Committee Chairman Senator Ralph Ostmeyer scheduled the committee for tomorrow to work the bill with the included amendment and vote. We do believe that they will vote favorably and recommend passage. Then the bill will move to the full Senate for a vote.
