Wolverine Boots

This past fall, I have been hunting and scouting in Wolverine’s Big Horn 8" Woman’s Sport Boot. I feel privileged to have worn this boot, as it is actually the only hunting boot from Wolverine made specifically for women!

From the moment I stepped into these boots, they felt comfortable on my feet. There was no need to break them in. Often I develop blisters on my heels from new shoes or boots, (as many people do) but not with these! I have worn these boots on several trips afield; through woods, weeds, puddles and corn, and not once did I complain about sore feet. They are rugged to withstand a lot of abuse that hunting boots need to endure. They lace-up fast and easy too! They have kept my feet warm on days when the mercury dropped to freezing. I think I’ve found the perfect boot for fall weather in the Northland!

Wolverine has been in business since 1883 and has a unique and varied history. From the beginnings of a modest shoe factory in Michigan that included tanning horsehide leather, to making pigskin suede gloves over the years, to the making and selling of Harley Davidson boots and shoes. They have become a global company but their products are still made in the U.S.A. !

The Big Horn boot is made of a soft full grain brown leather with tough 1000-denier Cordura nylon uppers that are extremely durable and abrasion resistant.

It has a Gore-Tex waterproof membrane lining with sealed seams and heavy duty construction. The breathable membrane is able to let moisture vapor out, but no water in.

With 600 grams of Thinsulate, this boot keeps the feet nice and warm on those chilly days in the field and does so without bulk. The insulation will not compress or trap perspiration. A big problem with

The innermost Cambrelle lining manages moisture and is quick drying next to skin.

There is also a full-cushion footbed (which is removable) that will keep feet well secured.

It's finished off with a rubber sole (midsole is resistant to slipping, oil and heat.) The foot has multiple compression pads to absorb shock and there is a comfortable gel insole which cushions each and every step you take. The arch is flexible for extra support.

This boot comes in women's sizes 5 - 11, including some of the more popular half sizes.
