Note: I want to thank Brady Copeland and his family for sharing Pine Acres Plantation with us and allowing us this wonderful hunting adventure. Pine Acres Plantation is not a commercial plantation and is just for the Copeland family and invited guest.

Lady Hunters: Lisa Lander from PA, Sheila Burnham from MS, Mandy Sears from TX, Karen Myers from NC, Linda Thompson from MI, Barbara Strawberry from MD and myself Sue Burch from SC

Sunday morning came way too early for me... our last morning to hunt. I told Danny that I didn't think I could make it. He told me to turn over and go back to sleep. I covered up my head and turned over. I felt so exhausted. I could not imagine going hunting this morning. I thought about all the other ladies for a while. I got up and got ready to go. If the other ladies could do it, then somehow I was going to do it too.

Robert took me to a new tower. It was all I could do this morning to pick my leg up high up to reach the next step. Danny was there helping me. My body was trying to tell me to stop and I wasn't listening. I finally got in the tower. There was some nip in the air this morning. It didn't take me long to realize I would have been better off just to have stayed in bed. I might have stayed awake a good 30 minutes before I started dozing off. Every time I would doze off, my muscles would jump, making the whole tower shake and rattle. Deer for miles knew I was in that tower. I am sure I was the joke of the deer world that day. Can't you picture all those deer together laughin', snickerin', passing the story all down deerville that day? What made it worse was I was calling Danny to come get me on our radio and I just could not get him to answer me. We have ours set on the pulse so when hunting it will not alarm any game... no answer... I called and called. I was miserable and just had to wait it out.

Finally, I could see the truck that Robert and Danny brought me in... Thank you Lord! I started getting ready to climb down as soon as I saw the truck. Danny came up to help me and I asked him why didn't he answer when I called him on his radio. He said, "I couldn't find my radio anywhere. I looked for it when I went back to the lodge." I looked in my bag and there was mine, so right then I knew it was my fault. I had picked up his and had it in my camo jacket. Now I just had to get out of the tower and back to the lodge. Once back at the lodge we went ahead and had breakfast so we could start packing.

Danny had already done most of our packing while I was hunting. A few of the ladies still hadn't gotten back yet and it was running late. All of a sudden there was so much going on in the backyard that I thought someone had gotten hurt. I went out to see what was going on and it was the other ladies coming in. Linda Thompson had not only gotten a doe that she shot first, but a 12 point buck that came through later. (Click here to read Linda’s story.) We took some photos with Linda's buck but had to hurry due to flight time schedules and everyone having to leave.

We said our goodbyes to everyone and left Estill, heading back to Kershaw, SC. Now what can we do for our 2nd Annual hunt to top this one?
