Danny and I drove down to Estill, SC on Thursday so we would not have to get up so early on Friday to get there. Linda Thompson was flying into Savannah Thursday night and we had already decided to pick her up so we all could stay together in Estill. We went out to supper together and spent some time getting to know each other. Linda is a lady hunter who you can sit with for hours and hours and just talk hunting.
At the lodge Friday, Karen and Herm were there when Danny, Linda and I got there. Mandy and Jason came in shortly after that. After we got our luggage unloaded, Brady wanted all of us to sight in our weapons. After we sighted in our weapons, we had a wonderful late lunch and got ready to go hunting.
We were all ready to go hunting, but due to some flight problems, Lisa Landers had not made it there yet. Before anyone left I announced that the prize for the first deer would be a Mossy Oak shirt and pants. Brady started taking us to different stands and blinds. Danny helped me get into a tower and went to help the others.
We were waiting in a group for each of us to get back with the hopes that the next one got something. We all heard shots and we just knew one of us had to have gotten a deer. No such luck. We all went in to have supper. As we were eating supper, Lisa Landers finally arrived and she had had a nightmare of a day. Since no one had gotten a deer, we drew names for the Mossy Oak ladies shirt and pants and Lisa Landers was the winner. It sure did brighten up her day.
After supper I gave out the gift bags (sponsors bottom of page) we were able to make and everyone loved them. David Sullivan gave out some gifts from BADF and Buckmasters. We just enjoyed getting to know each other and went to bed so we would be ready for the hunt Saturday morning.
