Hi. My name is Cynthia Vannoy. I was born and raised on a ranch near Clearmont , Wyoming . Since I was very little, I have been involved with hunting - first as a tag-along kid. My father and uncle guided eastern hunters for mule deer and antelope on our 20,000 acres of rangeland during the late 50s and early 60s. I married a hunter in 1978, and we continued to guide and hunt on the ranch, now reduced to 10,000 acres, due to my uncle passing away and selling his share to his nephew. During those years, my husband and I hunted in England , Jackson Hole and the Wyoming Red Desert . He operated a taxidermy shop for several years, and I helped him with the business. We raised two children, a boy, now 21, and a girl, 18. My son is a dedicated hunter/fisherman, hunting with both bow and rifle. My daughter hunts, but not quite as much. In 2003, I divorced my husband and took over the outfitting business, which I now operate under the name A Bar V Outfitting. The A Bar V being my cattle brand which was once my uncle’s.

I have hunted Roe deer, Muntjac and Fallow deer in England; elk, moose, Mule deer, Whitetail deer, Pronghorn antelope, small game and birds in Wyoming; and ducks in South Dakota. One year I hunted with the Lady Diana’s, a ladies bow hunting group in Wyoming . I hope to hunt Scotland someday soon. I have written for Petersen’s Hunting, Blade Magazine, Knives Illustrated, Western Outdoors, and Wyoming Wildlife. I was on the staff of a now defunct hunting newspaper, the Wyoming Outdoor Reporter.

I was glad to find the WomenHunter’s website and hope to be an active staff member. Keep up the good work encouraging and supporting women hunters.
